ReplyDeleteThese snowflakes are beautiful !
ReplyDeleteYour photo of Editha may not show the correct color, but your excellent tatting is very clear. Your snowflake looks even more impressive than the b/w photo accompanying the original pattern, which amazingly was available on the internet way back in 1998. I've always wanted to tat it, but haven't yet!
ReplyDeleteChristiane was even diagramming back then! Because of your post, I decided to see if I could find the pattern on the internet again, and I did - easily! Not only that, you can see photos of Christiane and read the story of how she started doing many crafts, including tatting.
Her site was last updated in 2003 - so it's been awhile! She somehow had access to the VERY early internet via a modem around 1992(!) and learned to tat after coming across it there! (I wasn't even aware of the World Wide Web until 1995!) I wonder what she's doing now!
For those who are interested, Google "Dreams of Lace" and it's the first listing. Then click "Tatting", or other tabs to learn her history. You'll find other interesting links there, too, to other tatters' patterns.
Kathy, thanks for that, it is very interesting. I knew Christiane when she was on the Craft Forum of CompuServe all those years ago. She was and may still be, a member of the ring of Tatters.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this before. What a beautiful design!
ReplyDeleteFox : )
